New York Times: The Marathoner Without a Country

On Tuesday, Michel Gabaudan, president of Refugees International, which is based in Washington, wrote a letter to the I.O.C. president, Jacques Rogge, regarding the matter. Representative Barbara Lee, Democrat of California, also weighed in.

“I look forward to the day when the people of South Sudan can field their own Olympic team,” Lee said in a statement Wednesday. “But until that time comes, the International Olympic Committee should allow individuals like Guor to compete under the Olympic flag.”
